CHIARA SCARPITTI

Chiara Scarpitti, designer and PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Design at the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the University of Campania "L. Vanvitelli." Since 2006 she has been working in the field of design and jewellery at an international level, obtaining numerous awards and exhibiting her works in galleries and museums including Triennale Design Museum in Milan, MAD Museum of Art and Design in New York, and HOW Design Center in Shanghai. Coordinator of the Commission “Design for the Person” of ADI Design Index 2024/2025, she is a Member of the Board of Directors of AGC - Association for Contemporary Jewellery from 2019. She has taught jewellery, accessories, and design products at IED Moda in Milan, the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, and Tari Design School in Caserta between 2014 and 2019. She is the Author of numerous essays and two monographs, including Oggetti Pensiero, published by Letteraventidue and selected by the ADI Index 2021 as a candidate for Compasso d’Oro. She has scientifically coordinated several design-funded projects; she is currently the coordinator of the RHITA Project, a PRIN PNRR project dedicated to Made in Italy fashion. Her practice-based research activity is characterized by the speculative hybridization of advanced production processes, digital technologies, and contemporary philosophies related to fashion, design objects, and jewellery.
